The shape of this first codpiece was enhanced by including suspended ceiling hanger wire (probably 12 gauge) when whipping the edges. In order to prevent the wire from stressing the whipping, I first laid the hooked piece on a piece of plywood, then hammered nails around and close to the edges. The wire was then bent around the piece, outside the nails, until the end met the beginning. As a result, after the whipping was done, the piece could be shaped as desired. This shaping can be seen in the photo.
